Non-Breeding
Some male alpacas are not good enough quality to use as breeding males. They are often gelded. Female alpacas age and turn into grandma alpacas who stay with the herd and are companion animals for babies. Some females are never able to breed for some health reasons. These animals are all considered non-breeders.
Non-breeding alpacas make excellent companion animals for babies who are being weaned or for breeding animals who need a friend to hang-out with. They can also be used as pet and fiber animals.
